About Children of Zion Village

For I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in; I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. Then the righteous shall answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You? Or thirsty, and gave You drink? When did we see You a stranger, and took You in? Or naked, and clothed You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You? And the Lord shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you have done it to Me.   (Mat 25:35-40)

The Children of Zion Village (COZV) is a Christian home for orphans in the country of Namibia, in southern Africa. Located on the Zambezi River in the northeast corner of Namibia, our children come from several different tribal and language groups.

They have been placed in our care because they have lost their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to AIDS. The home opened in January, 2003, and is now home to 55 children.

Here the boys and girls receive love, nutrition, shelter, healthcare, academic, vocational and Bible education, and become part of one large Christian family. Our missionaries, volunteers, and Namibian staff work together to raise the children in our “village”.

The girl pictured above is not one of the lucky children housed at the Children of Zion Village. She lives in the small town of Mafuta several kilometers distant from COZV. Currently in Mafuta 100 orphans are fed one nutritious meal a day, five days a week. The Mafuta Feeding Center needs a church or other group to adopt the program or better yet build a Childrens Home like COZV. Rebecca Mink estimates that there may well be over 5000 AIDS pandemic orphans within a three hour driving distance from COZV.

Mission Statement

Encouraging the Church To Save a Million Children for Christ: Children of Zion, Inc. is a Christian ministry assisting and promoting the evangelistic, pro-life work of encouraging churches and para-church organizations in North America to establish Children’s Homes throughout the world to provide care for children orphaned by war, poverty, neglect, and the international AIDS Pandemic.

Statement of Purpose

Motivating the Church; Saving Children: Each year, millions of children are being orphaned or abandoned in third world nations as a result of war, poverty, neglect, and the AIDS Pandemic. Too many times, these children have no one to turn to for help. Children of Zion, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization that supports a Christian Children’s Home in Namibia, West Africa. We are working to facilitate an intentional network among Christian evangelical organizations and church congregations to encourage and enable the creation of hundreds of children’s homes throughout the world. These homes will be committed to raise the children in a Christ-centered environment, providing love, food, clothing, housing, education, medical services, and vocational preparation.
