Day 1 - Monday June 18, 2007

Freinds:

Team One, consisting of Clydia, Ed, Amanda, Joe, Dennis, Steven, Debra, Michelle, and Jeff are currently at the gate at Dulles Airport. The good news is that all of their luggage made it through the baggage check and weight limit with no questions asked. Yeah! Uneventful is the goal. They picked up Becca along the way. Becca is a personal friend of the Minks, college age young woman, who will spend two months at the home. Becca is traveling with your group to get to the children’s home.
Namibian time is 6 hours ahead of us on the East coast.  The in flight time is 15 hours, then they land in Johannesburg, spend the night, get their luggage again, fly to Livingstone, Zambia, and there they are met by the Minks who drive them another 3 hours, cross the boarder into Namibia, and they will have arrived. All in all, they should get there in time for dinner on Wed night. Please keep them in your prayers.

Also, at the airport, anyone who had a coke or water had to leave it before going through security. Remember they will take that stuff from you. Have your bottle of less than three ounces in a zip lock baggie. I do carry an empty water bottle with me, that I then refill.

The flight path: Dulles to Johnnesburg, South Africa ( 16 hours ) to Livingstone, Zambia ( 2 hours ) to COZV, Namibia ( 3 hours ).
